Biography
Manuel A. Portales
Painter, Sculpture, Muralist , writer , photographer, jewelry designer Graphic Designer and a fishing man, multitalented and creative person.
Manuel was born in Habana Cuba on August 15/1963. Graduated from the Escuela Nacional de Diseño in 1982. He is a self-taught painter and auto-didact.
He attended to Design Institute Havana, Cuba, and he optioned his degree in Industrial Technical Design– Graph Designer. Institute of Foreign Trade. Havana Cuba, a Foreign Trade Technician and ICAIC, Havana Cuba Photography & Video.
At the early age of 15 years old Manuel participated in different art exhibitions in Habana. His work has been shown in his native Cuba, as well as in exhibitions in Venezuela, Mexico, Chile, Spain and United Estates and today his art is hold by private collectors.
Manuel is dedicated to collect classic artwork and antiques until today. He had been dedicates himself to studied different artists and styles throughout the art history of the painting and sculpture, developing his art based on a mixture of both achieving his own realistic and colorful style that gathers all of them.
Manuel is a great team work and he is always willing to help his friends, artists and nonprofit organizations as the Dominican Association of Tampa, Tampa Hispanic Heritage,Inc. Magazine “ Surco Sur”. Colaborator and Consulado Honorario del Perú in Tampa. He is a member of the Coalition of Hispanic artists since 2007, and served as a board of directors of CHA for 5 years. Manuel was responsible of the CHA curatorial art exhibits in the Tampa Bay Area Manatee , Pasco and Hillsborough counties, photographer, assistance treasurer .
