An art and cultural advocate, painter and business administrator, born in Dominican Republic
Education: Majored in Interior Design and Decoration at the University Pedro Henriquez Urena (UPHU), a majored in Fine Arts from the School of Bellas Artes and Cultos, and a B.A. from APEC University in Dominican Republic. She attended Massasoit College in Massachusetts, USA, focusing on Accounting and Business Management.
She has lived in Tampa since 1986 where she and her husband founded Habitat Home Realty of Florida, an active real estate company that serves the Hispanic community.
Community involvement:
Damaris is CHA past president, Co-founder and actual Vice-president; Dominican Association of Tampa, past president and Co-founder; Hispanic Alliance of Tampa Bay, Co-founder . Tampa Hispanic Heritage Inc., past president; Hispanic Professional Women Association , Past Board member; Hillsborough County Public Art Committee, past member; Tampa Museum Art “Museo Mi Barrio, advisory committee. She has served in different civic organizations in the Tampa Bay area as LULAC and others.
Exhibits: MOSI ,The Tower At Westshore, TECO Gallery, Feathered Serpent Gallery, B&B T Bank Halls,Tre Amici At the Bunker , Art Center Manatee and others private events.
Her artwork is versatile and colorful representing the folklore, customs, traditions, and fantasies of her Caribbean culture. Trained on oil, pastel and charcoal her actuality medium of expression is acrylic on Canvas.
